Die zweite wichtige Stellschraube ist neben der Blende die Belichtungszeit. Mit der Belichtungszeit kann an der Kamera eingestellt werden, wie lange der Verschluss das Licht auf den Kamerasensor lässt. Das ist aber noch lange nicht das ganze Geheimnis der Belichtungszeit, die wie die Blende noch weit mehr kreativen Spielraum eröffnen kann:

Bei Aufnahmen, welche unter der Verwendung von Blitzlicht erstellt werden, wird der Blitz erst dann aktiviert, wenn der erste der beiden Vorhänge den Sensor vollständig freigegeben hat oder sogar erst dann, wenn sich der zweite Vorhang bereits in Bewegung setzt.

Die am kürzesten mögliche Belichtungszeit, bei welcher der Kamerasensor vollständig freigegeben wird, nennt sich Synchronzeit.

Diese ist zugleich die kürzeste Belichtungszeit, bei der eine Aufnahme unter der Verwendung von Blitzlicht erstellt werden kann. Bei kürzeren Belichtungszeiten als der Synchronzeit, wird der Sensor immer von mindestens einem der Vorhänge verdeckt und würde somit nicht komplett vom Licht des Blitzes erreicht werden.

Die Belichtungszeiten, die du kennen solltest, sind die sog. „ganzen Belichtungszeiten“, bei denen von einem Schritt zum nächsten die Lichtmenge bzw. Belichtungszeit verdoppelt wird.

Diese sind auf jeder Kamera zu finden und werden in aller Regel als Bruchteile einer Sekunde angegeben. Das bedeutet entsprechend 1 tausendstel Sekunde, 1 Fünfhundertstel usw. Zeiten die eine Sekunde überschreiten werden in aller Regel mit einem Anführungszeichen versehen.

Früher gab es nur die vollen Stufen, aber an den einigen aktuellen Kameras gibt es auch noch Zwischenschritte von „1/2 Schritten“:

1000, 750, 500, 350, 250, 180, 125, …

Oder (was sehr viel geläufiger ist) drittel Schritte:

1000, 800, 640, 500, 400, 320, 250, …

In einigen Situationen wird es vielleicht passieren, dass das Licht einfach viel zu hell ist, um zur gewünschten Belichtungszeit zu kommen. So z.B. bei den Landschaftsaufnahmen oben. Bei längeren Belichtungszeiten geht dann nichts ohne einen Neutraldichtefilter (ND-Filter), auch Graufilter genannt. Dieser macht nichts anderes, als Licht zu schlucken und steht in verschiedensten Stärken zur Verfügung, je nach dem wie lange man belichten möchte. Das Wissen zu ND-Filtern werden wir im laufe des Kurses noch vertiefen.

Um sicher zu gehen, dass Aufnahmen von Hand nicht verwackeln, kann man sich folgende Formel zu Hilfe nehmen:

Ein Bildstabilisator gleicht, wie der Name schon sagt automatisch Wackler aus, die der Fotograf erzeugt. Mit diesem kannst du den obigen Wert für die Belichtungszeit noch um einige Blenden verlängern. Wer kann schon von sich behaupten, dass er eine absolut ruhige Hand hat? Besonders bei längeren Belichtungszeiten aus der freien Hand werden somit scharfe Bilder erst möglich. Achtung: Ein Bildstabilisator hat nur Einfluss auf Bewegungen der Kamera, nicht auf Bewegungen eines Motivs.

Du solltest unbedingt beachten, dass du deine Kamera immer ausschaltest, bevor du ein Objektiv mit Bildstabilisator abnimmst. Da der Stabilisator ständig beschäftigt ist, ist er möglicherweise noch nicht in seiner Ruheposition eingerastet solange die Kamera „ON“ ist. Dies kann den Stabilisator im schlimmsten Fall mechanisch beschädigen.
